In 1902, Saxton (Lee), a famous British anthropologist, is coming back to Europe by the Trans-Siberian Express from China to Moscow. With him is a container containing the solidified survives from a crude humanoid animal that he found in a collapse Manchuria. He trusts it is a missing connection in human development.
